About Blackbird Orchestra
With influences from Joy Division to Motorhead, Seattle-based Blackbird Orchestra likes to understate their sound as “a little bit this, a little bit that.” Don’t be fooled, though, the “this” and “that” actually form a carefully calculated recipe, combining the quartet’s diversity, rich guitar sound, melodic vocals, and experimental timing with rock sensibility, New Wave pop and dark flourish. This deliberate mélange is sometimes imperfect, sometimes unexpected, but consistantly produces music different from other bands, yet familiar to everyone who listens.
Formed in April 2005, Blackbird Orchestra rounds out its ranks with lead vocalist and lyricist, Frank Fuller; bassist and backing vocalist Daniel McManus; guitarist Tommy Atwell; and drummer Kevin Jungfleisch.
